Here at East Hanningfield Academy, pupils are expected to be smart at all times, wear their uniform with pride, and remember that they are ambassadors for the school. School uniforms play a key role in promoting pride, self-confidence, and a feeling of belonging within the student body. These factors contribute to children's well-being, removing the additional pressures of deciding what to wear and added stress of meeting the expectations of their peers.
We request that parents/carers do their utmost to avoid placing their child in a compromising position by ignoring the dress code.
Our school uniform requirements:
EYFS & KS1

Blue polo top (preferably with the school logo on), grey trousers / shorts / pleated skirt, navy round neck sweatshirt or cardigan (preferably with the school logo on).
KS2
KS2
Blue collared cotton shirt, school tie*, grey trousers / shorts / pleated skirt, navy round neck sweatshirt or cardigan (preferably with the school logo on).
*School Tie (can be purchased from the School via Arbor)

In the Summer term, blue checked summer dresses can be worn, up until October half term.

Black sensible school shoes (no trainers).
Grey or white socks, or grey, white or grey tights (no trainer socks).
Small hair bobbles, bows or headbands in navy, white or grey.
Please ensure your child has a coat or waterproof in school every day.
No child should wear jewellery in school. A sensible, non-electronic, wrist watch is allowed. If a child has earrings they can only be small studs that they must be able to remove independently for PE and swimming. Hair styles should be sensible with no pattern designs if they are short. Hair that is shoulder length or longer must be tied up. No nail varnish should be worn on finger nails.

Our school uniform arrangements are compliant with DFE statutory guidance regarding cost and these requirements have been agreed by the Governing body.
We have a wide selection of pre-loved uniform available - please contact the office should you wish to access this.
Please note, if parents are in any doubt about the suitability of school shoes, parents must seek advice from the school before purchasing them. Trainers or plimsolls are not allowed except to change into at breaktime or for Physical Education. If children need to wear alternative footwear, as a temporary measure, this should be put in writing by the parent and handed to the school.
Physical Education (PE)
Children are expected to wear their PE Uniform to school on days they have timetabled PE. We expect them to wear their school jumper/cardigan or fleece whilst walking to school. A coat can be worn should the weather suffice.
Navy shadow striped shorts
White, round neck, plain T-shirt
Change of socks (if wearing tights)
Plimsolls for indoor PE and trainers for outdoor PE
Navy jogging bottoms and navy round neck jumper (no designs or logos)
All items of uniform and PE kit MUST be clearly labelled with your child’s name.

There is no requirement to purchase uniform through a specific supplier or to purchase clothing with a school logo. Parents may wish to purchase uniform at high street retail stores. However, we do have system for ordering uniform on-line. To order and pay for school uniform online visit: -
